Morning Glory Ministries Presents
These are the pictorial Chronicles of Thomas Lee Carter-Medley III
This is the story of a little boy named Thomas. It is a tale of
encouragement for anyone who has been crushed by life. It is a tribute
to all who have been dealt a terrible blow that has brought them to their
knees but found the grace of Jesus extended to them through someone
who loved enough to give of themselves unselfishly.
As we slowly walked to the parking lot of Truevine Missionary Baptist
Church of Lompoc, California on August 12, 2005, I looked down at a
little 2-1/2 year old Thomas who was looking back for his mother, Sylvia
L. Carter-Medley, 29 years old. She had passed away unexpectedly not
too many days before of a heart condition. Her funeral service over,
what would be the fate of this sad little person who was in a modern day
Lodebar - a dismal place of no pasture, no hope - total desolation?
His story is similar to that of Mephibosheth, the son of Prince Johnathan
and the grandson of King Saul in the Bible. He was rescued by his
father's best friend, King David and taken to a place of royalty and love.
Thomas was rescued from Lodebar by his grandparents, Pastors Russell
and Sylvia Medley who traveled to California several times in two months
to legally obtain custody of him. Just because Thomas is their grandson,
did not mean that he would automatically be handed over to them. He
could have become a Ward of the state of California. Only by the grace
of God, he is permanently in the care of loving grandparents being
brought up in the admonition of God's word.
After a cross country journey from Lompoc, California to Morgantown,
WV, they pulled into the drive at 1342 Pineview Drive, Morgantown, WV;
Thomas' new home on September 19, 2005. He was welcomed to
Grandma and Grandpa Medley's Boot Camp.
