Pastors Russell & Sylvia Medley present
Mike Oliverio, civic leader and public servant,
a piece of art work from the collection of
Pastor Sylvia's Morning Glory Art Collection,
in memory of his wife Julia, thanking them for
their support of Morning Glory Ministries and
their community.
Carousel banner created by Bro.
Ron Cralton hung high over the
Mountaineer Mall, Center Court.
Morning Glory Ministries
stepped out on faith and
performed a successful paradigm
shift as they relocated the Annual
Precious Children Celebration
Fundraiser 2009 from a familiar
place, Lakeview Resort, to an
unfamiliar setting, the
Mountaineer Mall, Center Court.
The Center Court of the
Mountaineer was literally
transformed into a Star-Studded
Carousel of Cultures. A huge,
beautiful Carousel banner hung
from the ceiling over the stage
area. Stars, Chinese lanterns,
Chinese dragons and international
flags also hung from the walls,
ceilings and stage.
The spiritual aspect of our theme
(Psalm 133:1 How good and
pleasant it is for brethren to dwell
together in unity), was addressed
through performances and
displays.
The heavens smiled as the current
Dream Builder - William David
Dilworth Memorial Grant
recipients for Piano ($50.00 per
mo. ea) - Clara Lukomski, 11
years old, Soraya Nikzad, 10
years old, Sadaf Nikzad, 8 years
old, under the direction of their
piano teacher, Mrs. Vickie Chen,
and parents Nick and Rochelle
Nikzad of Morgantown performed
magnificently.
The gifted ballerina and aspiring
choreographer, Alicia Holloway, 12
years old, recipient of the Dream
Builder William David Dilworth
Memorial Grant for Dance moved
as gracefully as a gazelle during
her dance routine. She is the
daughter of Kenny and Evelyn
Holloway of Morgantown.
Those present were electrified by
the anointed performances of the
golden voiced Stephen Shutts, the
dynamic Temple of Christ Youth
Ensemble, The eclectic Rick &
Aldrea Brown Family.
The Ground Zero Jui-Jitsu
Fighting System of Morgantown,
WV literally demonstrated how to
fight the good fight and how to
finish your course.
Displays from various cultures
(Mexico, Indian, the Holy Land,
African American, Poland, Iran,
etc.) were exhibited in the
showcases of the old Jeweler
store and on two lighted carts. A
7 foot tall Carousel displayed
pictures of Dream Builder William
David Dilworth Memorial Award
recipients.
The uniqueness of generations
living, working and worshipping
together in harmony was the focus
as five minutes of music unique to
each generation was played by DJ
Dragnknet aka Russell Medley, III.
As the music was played for their
particular generation, brave
dancers moved to the beat of the
music.
Kid's Corner, was the location of
the children's free throw basketball
court. Young people shot
basketballs through a "kiddie"
hoop to win stuffed animals. This
was manned by the WVU CCE
Service Learning Students,
Michael Rubin and Albert Lewis.
We were graced with an
appearance by the Shoney Bear
and the Easter Bunny.
The free Food Court was the
place to be quench your hunger or
thirst for the physical food.
Shoney's All American Giant
Grizzly and Bear Burgers,
macaroni salad, and other
condiments were served by Chefs
James and Debbie. Sampling of
Chinese food from the Great China
Buffet was also available.
Delicious homemade cookies,
baked fresh, from Panera Bread
and Smiley and Bunny Cookies
from Eat'n Park rounded out the
menu for this celebration.
Special thanks also to Gerri
Medley, our photographer, and
Roger Jefferys, III on the video
camera.
To God be the glory for the good
time that was had by all. We pray
that the healing medicine of joy
and laughter touched and
encouraged someone and that
someone saw Christ in us and
came away wanting to know what
they might do to be saved.
