Morning Glory Ministries 1st
Annual Black Tie Gala

Morning Glory Ministries celebrated its
mission as a Dream Builder for Youth
at the 1st Annual Black Tie GALA
“Reach for the Stars” at the Waterfront
Place Hotel, Morgantown, WV on
September 25, 2009.

The banquet hall was decorated
elegantly as black and white drapes
hung majestically from the North, East
and West walls.  Also, on the north
wall, a gleaming 9 ft replica of Morning
Glory Ministries’ logo hung from the
ceiling as a backdrop above center
stage. Two beautiful silver vases of
white carnations with long silver
branches projecting from them sat on
white columns on either side of the
stage.  The tree lights helped those
present focus on the performances.
The numerous silent auction items
were beautifully displayed on white and
black  table coverings located at the
South wall.  Each dinner table was
decorated with an beautiful white angel
centerpiece.

The evening  began with the William
David Dilworth Memorial Dream Builder
Grant recipients for Piano - Clara
Lukomski,10 years old; Soraya Nikzad,
10 years old; Sadaf Nikzad,7 years old;
and Christiana Everetts, 13 years old,
serenading guests as they browsed
the silent auction items.

The graceful 13 year old ballerina,
Alicia Holloway, recipient of Morning
Glory Ministries' William David Dilworth
Memorial Dream Builder Grant for
Dance, performed an impressive
interpretive dance on the wooden
dance floor located in front of the
stage.

The dance floor was also the site for a
stunning lyrical dance performed by 19
year old WVU students Corinthia Rilko,
and Micah Davis, moving to Apologize
by Republic.

Recipients of the William David
Dilworth Memorial Dream Builder Grant
for Academics – sophomores at West
Virginia University, Sally Miller and
Roger Jeffreys assisted at the
registration table and with computer
audiovisual equipment.

West Virginia University Center for
Center Engagement Volunteers and
Freshman Honor Students, Leahia
McIntire, Alexandria Noble, Kelly
Cuthbert, Jordan Thompson and
volunteer Ms. Darlene Rilko assisted
Morning Glory Ministries Board
Member Amanda Brown and her
husband Pastor Josh Brown with the
Silent Auction.

The Mason-Dixon Festival Queen of
the Monongahela, Nicole Shockcor
was also present at the GALA along
with Mason-Dixon Festival Board
Members Dr. John and Marlene Frich,
daughter Cindy, Kathy and Dan
Baliker, and Dannette Constantino.

God's Abundant Love did Abide as
mentors Pastors Russell & Sylvia
Medley, The Bobby Nicholas Band,
and Stephen Shutts by Design set the
stage for a perfect evening of music,
fine dining and fellowship.

The evening was filled with the
anointed melodies of Pastors Russell
and Sylvia Medley, Stephen Shutts by
Design and the nostalgic sounds of the
Bobby Nicholas Band.

All present were graced by the
appearance of Ms. Dot Underwood,
Representative for WV Governor Joe
Manchin in his absence.  She brought
greetings from the Governor and
presented Morning Glory Ministries
with a book about West Virginia history
for the Silent Auction.

The spirit of the evening was felt as an
informative PowerPoint reflecting the
eight year history of Morning Glory
Ministries was presented.  All present
could see how far the ministry has
come.  To God be the Glory for the
things He has done.

Thanks to all who supported Morning
Glory Ministries 1st Annual Black Tie
Gala  "Reach for the Stars".   Because
of the financial support of  the
Morgantown community and
communities around the country and
world, the William David Dilworth
Memorial Dream Builder Grant –
Investment in Youth was presented to
young attendees and mentors to
defray their cost to attend the GALA.

Corinthia Rilko, 19 years old, is the
recipient of Morning Glory Ministries
1st Annual Director's Choice Award.
The award is presented to a young
person who not only is gifted and
talented but exemplifies faith-based
humility, love for family and community
as evidenced by their service.

Special thanks to the Michelle Calle,
Videographer and James Thompson,
Still Photographer for capturing the
essence of our 1st Annual Black Tie
GALA.

Let's do it again in 2010.
