Not only are Rev. Russell E. Medley,
Jr. and his wife Rev. Sylvia the
Founders of Morning Glory
Ministries, a Dream Builder for Youth;
they are the Pastors of the Scotts
Run Community Church located in
the Shriver Mining Camp of
Morgantown, West Virginia.
Between them, they have over eighty
years of experience in the gospel
ministry serving in North Carolina,
Florida, Texas, California, North
Dakota, the Philippines and presently
in West Virginia. Both are licensed
and ordained ministers of the Gospel
of Jesus Christ. They have served in
the capacities of increasing
responsibility as teachers, preachers,
youth directors, soloists, evangelist,
soul-winners, choir directors, and
musicians. Pastor Russ also teaches
and plays the piano.
Pastor Russell Medley, USAF
Captain (Retired) holds a graduate
degree in Music Education from A &
T State University, Greensboro, NC,
a Masters in Religious Education
from the International Bible Institute
and Seminary, Orlando, Florida. He
is currently pursing a Masters in
Biblical Studies from Liberty
University, Lynchburg, VA.

Federal Bureau of Prisons as a
/Correctional Officer/Financial
Specialist in 2007.
She holds an Associate of Arts Degree
in Business – concentration in

University, Niceville, FL; Associate of
Religious Education from the
International Bible Institute and
Seminary, Orlando, FL; and a Bachelor
of Science Degree in Business
Management from LaVerne University,
LaVerne, CA.
Federal Bureau of Prisons as a
/Correctional Officer/Financial
Specialist in 2007.
She holds an Associate of Arts Degree

how individuals can become free and
financially independent through the
Primerica Financial Services (PFS)
system.
They relocated to Morgantown in 1997.
The Medleys have been married for 34
years. They are the parents of two
adult sons, Russell E. Medley, III and
spouse Gerri of Morgantown, West
Virginia and Capt. Gabriel L. Medley,
United States Army, Province, Iraq and
spouse Erin. They are the proud
grandparents of Thomas L. Carter, III, 6
years old, Kiarra C. Medley, 6 years old
and Ailani Star Medley, 3 years old of
Morgantown, WV.

Sunday morning
2. Disciples of Joy Pray and Bible
Study, Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.
